Selected in SBI mains.. Yeppy...

Finally the wait is over.The result came on 17th this month .Though I was pretty sure that something good will happen after the string of positive results in the past 6 months ,I was a bit nervous.By God's grace my prayers were answered and I succeeded. There's nothing bigger than SBI mains when PO is concerned.Eagerly waiting for joining !!!

No more PO exams!

29th October marks the culmination of my efforts to clear PO exams.With final selections in SBP and BoB already in kitty, I just hope I turn third time lucky and clear SBI as well.SBI as all of us know is not only the largest Bank in India ,its has the best service conditions as well (as per what I have got to know) .
So I would not be giving any more PO exams that are in the pipeline.Like the BOI exam today, PNB,United etc . Niether will I give the interviews of Central Bank Of India to be held on 22nd next month.I have already deliberately missed the Canara interveiw on 11th this month.

Interview of State Bank of India

My interview and GD for SBI PO was on 29th Oct at Koti,Hyderabad.The GD topic was "Is cricket craze good for the country".There were 8 candidates , 1 was absent.Since the topic was easy , most people were able to give their views .We were given 3 minutes each and then 5 minutes of "open for all" discussion was there.
In the PI most questions revovled around my biodata, hobbies , native state and the reason why inspite of being in Infosys I am joinin PO in SBI.It went well .I am keeping my fingers crossed , hopefully by God's grace , I clear it.

Going to Join Bank Of Baroda

Gave the medical test of Bank of Baroda at Kamineni Hospital , Hyderabad on 26-27th this month.They had asked us to have medical examination between 25th-30 th .The report would be directly sent to BoB HQ.We had to report to regional HQ , Hyderabad in my case.Although my reporting at Bhopal regional office was on or before 8th November, they have accepted my request and have given me a one month extension.So I will join around 22-23rd November.

Interview for Canara

Yesterday another pleasant news came up.

I was selected for 4th PO interview in a row.The interview is on 11th of October and I will use it as a mock exercise for the main battle on 29th (SBI Mains interview)

It was June 2009 when I cleared the clerical exam of SBI Associate Banks and then itself I knew that if I could do this I can clear the PO exams as well.Meanwhile I had already a job in Infosys and joined there on 10th August .

But my aspiration to be a PO had not died.I respect my current Infy job but finally you have to take a call one day , you have to take a look of yourself in mirror and ask yourself if you are really enjoying what you are doing .For me the answer was a resounding no inspite of being a CSE engineer and being in a truly great firm like Infosys.

So I decided to take a plunge in PO examinations and went through the grind of searching for that elusive job .When most of my mates were busy with the different exams that was part and parcel of Infy training my thoughts were fixed on being a PO someday.

It took 7 exams .. 2 first round rejection, 1 2nd round rejection, 1 interview rejection before I was finally selected as a PO in State Bank of Patiala.

I still have a interview result pending for Bank of Baroda and my interview for State Bank of India is on 29th of October'10.

One thing I want to share is getting in a PO is not that tough what people think of it.On hindsight I was lucky that there were jobs pouring like never before in PO sector.

7th of September 2010 - The date when I was selected a PO in SBP will always be the one the most defining days of my life.

Still not decided if I would join it or not but my life@PO has begun !
